Hiroshi Senju Museum Karuizawa
Hiroshi Senju is an art museum, displaying beautiful art work created by a Japanese artist, Hiroshi Senju who is known for his huge waterfall painting. His art work is a result of the perfect combination of art and nature. He uses natural ingredients as the material in his work, such as rocks or shells. Other than art pieces, this museum stands out because of its design. The building is designed by Ryue Nishizawa, a famous Japanese architects, who has won many prizes for his architectures. This design links the natural surroundings with the art pieces exhibited as a background.
Notes :Photo-taking is not allowed inside the museum.
In front of the parking lot, the museum shop is provided in a well-designed building, along with Karuizawa’s famous bakery shop, Asanoya.
The museum also include a garden called “Color Leaf Garden”, with different types of colourful plants, worth visiting in any season.
There is also an occasional gallery, where special short-term exhibitions and events will be held.
