Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza is by far one of the most famous tourist destinations in Karuizawa. This is a romantic local shopping street, full with local desserts or bakery shops, souvenirs, clothing store, and crafts shops. People in every age and gender are attracted to this lovely shopping street. Kyu-Karuizawa Ginza gives a really romantic vibe, perfect for a relaxing stroll with your loved ones, friends, family or even your pets. It’s also a really nice place to bike around, enjoying the view of a local town and stopping for something to eat.

Many of well-known restaurants, cafes, and bakery shops are located in this area, such as French Bakery, John Lennon’s favourite bakery, Asanoya, another famous bakery or Kawamian (川上庵) a very nice soba and tempura shop is close to the street entrance.

Jam is a really famous local product in Karuizawa. In this shopping street, organic fruit jams are available in many flavours and many brands, along with biscuits, dressings, and fruit juice.

Not so far from the entrance of the shopping street, you’ll find Kyu-Karuizawa Trick Art Musem on your right hand side. This museum creates many fun eye-tricking art, best for spending time taking photos with your friends or family. The entrance fee is 1200 Yen for adults and 800 Yen for students.
