Sei Paolo Catholic church is a beautiful church located near Kyu-Karuizawa. It’s location is right outside Church street which connects to Kyu-karuizawa. Although it’s close to the main street, Sei Paolo Catholic church is surrounded by trees. The beautiful weather of Karuizawa mixes well with the surrounding trees giving a refreshing feeling as you walk towards the church. The area of the church is large, having a parking lot at the back of the church large enough for the amount of people to fit within the church itself.
Looking at the church, it is beautifully constructed with a mixture of materials such as wood for the pillars, the upper walls and concrete being the foundation of the building itself. The church have multiple eye catching crosses, at the door there are two crosses which acts as a window, at the upper part of the building there is a large window with a large cross in the middle of it with a statue right on top of it and at the back of the church, stands a large tower with a cross on top of it showing the sign of the holy place. There are many windows around the side and a large window at the back of the church.
Opening the door leads straight towards the main part of the building that is the nave. Where members of the church sits. There are rows of benches in this area facing the sanctuary of the church. As you walk in, you will see a beautiful indoor area and despite having many windows, it’s not too bright due to having filters on the windows. There are multiple chandeliers hanging, lining towards the sanctuary that is higher than the rest of the area where the altar is presented. This church is a beautifully designed and greatly crafted on the inside, a church that gives a very traditional feeling when you are inside of it despite looking very modern from the outside.
